Style of a Boyfriend Crush

Do-Over!!!
The Weekend Boyfriend Crush…

Leopard Feetz with a Velvet touch...
The burgundy way…

What's Goldan wearing:
Velvet Tuxedo pants in a burgundy hue, white V-neck Tee, gray/burgundy faux-leather & cotton Blazer with shoulder pads (yassssss!!!) and leopard print calf hair Slip-on Sneaks.

What's the occasion:
I was waiting on a phone call… LOL!!!
It was an on-the-go Saturday, from luncheon to Grand Re-openings at Boutiques, taking pictures for blogs and even popping my head into a Fashion Show that evening. This little Boyfriend Crush was a great Saturday date!

What's the look:
A Boyfriend Crush that we've had for quite some time now. Done it before! Doing it again! Something about being Casually Chic that's menswear inspired. But with a Velvet touch! Yes, Velvet isn't going anywhere! And, if you were tuned in to NYFW SS/15 (New York Fashion Week), Velvet was on the Runway! Try pairing it with different textures & threads, while keeping Velvet the focal point.

Outfit Details: Blazer - Enstyle Butik, V-neck Tee - Mossimo (Target), Tuxedo pants - Aidan Mattox, Slip-On Sneaks - Joie Kidmore, Hair - Doing its own thing (shurgs)

What do we love about this look:
It's comfortably chic! A Tomboy Glitch that gives you somewhat of a contemporary streetstyle. Mixing different textures and threads. A lady's menstyle on a Saturday, if you would. Don't worry about price sensitivity on this one. Well, minus the shoes. The pants were a steal at Loehmann's (now closed), originally over $150 (Aidan Mattox) but I got them for less than $50. My V-neck Tee, usually comes from Target for a quick $8 and the Blazer was less than $50 at Enstyle Butik, here in Houston's Rice Village. However, the Slip-ons, just right over $200 from Neimans. Take away the shoes and you have a clean cut Boyfriend Crush for less than $100! Don't want to spend that much for shoes? No problem! The same look can be done for less.

Rock'em or Knock'em???

Yes! We've done this look before! So, you tell us… Who wore it best!?!!

Stay tuned for wearing white in the Fall Season…

Leopard Feetz for the Chic

Leopard-Prints for the Chic!

Are we tired of the Leopard-print fashion statement!?!
Nope! Not at all!!!

In today's Fashion world - Leopard prints are considered - classic & timeless! Also, here to stay. Kind of like a pair of Levi's; classic, never gets old, always in-style and an everlasting love. (IMO)…

Incorporating Leopard prints into your wardrobe, can living up your simplest, minimalist ensemble making it Chic Street Haute! 0 to 100 - real quick! *wink*

What's the newest trend for Leopard-prints?
I wouldn't necessarily call it a "new trend". Well, because, we've probably seen it already. Maybe just styled and rocked a different way.

So, here's whats now…

1. Oversized Faux-fur coats and/or jackets. Otay! Cropped coats or jackets works too!

2. The BB's; Blazers and Bombers. I would say the Leopard-print Blazers are Blazing and Bossy!!!

3. Flats, Oxfords, Heels/Pumps and Booties - something we've definitely all seen. But the newest trend would be 'sneaks'. And the hautest of them all - Calf hair Slip-ons. (I snagged a pair! YAY!!!)

4. Silky T-shirts, Sweaters, and, how about Socks!?!!

5. The Bag - whether Clutch, Tote or Shoulder Bag - just Rock it!

0 to 100 - Real Quick!

This Season - or should I say - my favorite style of leopard prints are on the feetz!!!

Introducing my new Joie Kidmore Leopard-Print, Calf Hair Slip-on sneaks to my leopard-print shoe family.

Joie, meet Giuseppe and Kors. Giuseppe and Kors, meet Joie.
Slip-on sneaks, Pumps & Booties.

I actually purchased the Pumps and Booties about a good 2 years ago and they're still standing.

Leopard prints on the feetz!!!

Don't be afraid to splurge a little bit (if you can) on timeless pieces that you can keep in your wardrobe for years to come.

Psssst… Saves you money from buying the same thing over and over - when it's just going to be haute, again, in the upcoming seasons.

A smart shopper, fashionista, knows quality over quantity - WINS!!! (In most cases…)

Rock'em or Knock'em!?

I snagged the sneaks from our favorite Neiman Marcus…

Napoleon Perdis the Master of Makeup

Friday Night Ladies!!! Let's get these faces together for the weekend!!!

Last week, Napoleon Perdis, international makeup artist who has been more than well known for transforming the faces, makeup bags, and even the lives of women for 20+ years, makes a personal appearance at Neiman Marcus to demonstrate his latest launches and providing tips on how to become your very own master of makeup.
Something we wouldn't dare to miss!

Goldan had the luxury of attending and watching Napoleon, the man himself, in action! And, we got a chance to interview him briefly between his appointments. But first, how about a little scoop!?!

The Scoop
Napoleon Perdis, a self-taught, Australian-born, Hollywood-based, Make-up Artist. From the Runways to your everyday Woman. Mastering the beauty of women for over 20 years and continues to carry on as one of the best in the industry. Even with a makeup Academy - 'The Harvard of Makeup' with U.S. and Australian campuses. Not only an international makeup artist but he's also the CEO and Founder of his brand. And it doesn't stop there…
Napoleon's work has been featured in some of our favorite magazines such as Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, and many more. With an artist like Napoleon, you know his looks have hit the Mercedes Benz Fashion Weeks in New York, and of course, Australia and many more. From the runways to reality, for what women really want.

Let's chat with the renowned, Extraordinaire Master of Makeup, Napoleon Perdis about his glamour 'glosspel'.

GB: I've read all about you, the Australian-born, Hollywood-based, makeup Artist. What inspired you to go into the Beauty Industry?
NP: My mother. My mother was a huge user of makeup and skin care. I could see the actual routine and transformation everyday.

GB: As a self-taught makeup artist, how did you transform and teach yourself the art? Practicing on women in the family, friends? I'm curious to know because I've tried to teach myself and as you can see, I'm at a D+ in that class…
NP: No it's not you look fabulous. The thing is that when you're a self-taught Makeup Artist and a male, you don't have to do it on yourself, you actually have to do other faces. So, my mother was the 1st. My wife was the 2nd and then, all my counsins and family were after that. Basically you hone your skill and as you hone your skill, you just develop how to work different faces. And when you have an appreciation of beauty, for the face, for female, you bring it out everytime you see a female, you immediately know what you find attractive or don't and you work it.

GB: NYFW (New York Fashion Week) just ended, now London and so forth. You've worked plenty of Fashion Shows to date. What are some Runway Beauty tips for your everyday woman?
NP: First, there are far too many trends at the moment. What I say is I have a few rules. Mascara, first. Because it's like a little runway for the face. The lip liner, last. Because it kind of photoshops the lip. Very little foundation on the forehead area and I use prime. Because not to prime is a crime. When you're blending your foundation area, blend it in the middle area of the face. If it's even, it should blend to nothing and blend in to your neckline. Another tip is, at the moment I'm loving a bit of a metallic smokey eye with nude shade metallics or I'm loving a naked eye with a very opaque strong lip. Kind of like you have today.

GB: I love how you say, when you do a makeover, you're not concerned with how she wants to look, you want to know how she wants to feel that day. What's the difference to you? No look good, feel good?
NP: Well, here's the thing, a feeling and a mood are much more easily expressed than what she wants to look like. Because, sometimes what she wants to look like is different to the feeling she's actually totally wanting. So, I want to achieve that and I think the two marry. Whereas, if I just achieve the look which may be out of inspiration out of a magazine or something she has seen, I may not totally get her emotional state of mind.

Napoleon Perdis products are available at Neiman Marcus.

GB: For someone like myself, who likes to think she's completely clueless - what start-up tips do you have? (I chuckle as NP says I'm not cluesless and I look great, well put together)
NP: Basic tips - start with whatever she feels like. If she just wants to wear moisturizer, wear moisturizer. The Mark Jacob show had no makeup, they only used moisturizer. As she builds her confidence, she can actually start to go with it. But I try not to dictate. What I believe - she may not believe. So, if all she wants to do is moisturizer and mascara, that's actually good enough.

Napoleon Perdis is an Embassy. We translate according to whatever a woman wants. We don't look at age, color, texture or trends. We just do translation. - NP

GB: Again, you've done, NYFW, MBFW of Australia, featured in some of the top magazines around the world. I mean it never gets old for you. Are you constantly reinventing yourself or does Napoleon stick to whats made him successful in the industry?
NP: I just stick to what I do. After working with some of the top models and actresses around the world like Miranda Kerr and Jessica Hart, it's just about creating that look, for that moment, to make them look good.

GB: I know your work speaks for itself but are you ever surprised when you win those awesome awards?
NP: I never expect them. It's a great honor and pleasure. We just won PopSugar, which goes to 3 million people. Great honor. Great pleasure. But I don't expect them. I just like being with people and thats it.

Saddened by an incident that took place earlier that day, while making his way to Houston Galleria, NP says, "If people really love each other that shouldn't happen. For me, makeup is a way of connecting and loving".

GB: What can women look forward to when using your products and application techniques?
NP: Someone who lives and breathe passion of pure ingredients. Our serum is made in Switzerland. Our masque is made in Italy and it's phenomenal, you can sleep with it and still get the same results as having it on for 20 minutes. We have a huge indigenous population in Australia thats never talked about which is our black population and people don't celebrate that they have their own culture. Yarrow extract - they use it and tighten skin and I've put that in my Auto Pilot. So, thats actually amazing. When I bring Australia to beauty, its on a global scale with every culture, every age and every race. I try not to look at what's in front of me. When I go to the lab, I just want the best and I'll keep putting it in until I get the best. And then we test it and if the results work, it works. Like our foundation, I don't want it to be a sample of ingredients. When you put it on, I want it to perform.

GB: I'm definitely going to use all that I learned here today. So, can I send you selfies of my progress? LOL!!!
NP: Sure. I travel a lot, so it could be a few days before I can personally go through all the approvals and reviews but I'll always respond.

"Education is at the heart of my brand and I'm eager to share my tips and techniques from over 20 years as a makeup artist" - NP

What can we say!?!! We are truly new fans and customers of Napoleon Perdis!!!

"When I do a makeover, I'm not only concerned with how a woman wants to look, I want to know how she wants to feel that day" - NP

"Not to prime is a crime" - NP

Since I met Napoleon, I have been using his Auto Pilot Pre-Foundation, Auto Pilot tinted lip balm, matte eye ink liner ~ black, Auto Pilot Radiance Boosting Primer, and his Peep Show Madame Fantasia black volumizing mascara, along with his 'how to' booklet with tons of application tips and techniques. I'll definitely be back for more! No pictures yet, as I need to master this beauty thing (chuckles). But I'll be sure to keep you up to date with pics of my progress…

Watch as I go from "nearly-nude to full-strength glamour"… When I grow up! HA!

Style!?! He does!!!
Inspired by trends of Fashion, Art, Music and popular culture - clearly shows in his Style not Swag. Check out his Colbalt Blue suit with those white/gold Buscemi Sneaks with padlock!!!
Love! Love! LOVE!!! I ADORE!

Les Exclusifs de Chanel Beige!!!

Les Exclusifs de Chanel…

While roaming the Cosmetics floor at Neiman Marcus of Houston Galleria, as I await my chance to interview the lovely, Australian Makeup Master, Napoleon Perdis (coming up on the blog), I made my way over to the Chanel counter with all intentions on restocking my Christalle - Chanel, until…

I'm one who loves to dazzle in many different fragrances of Chanel and very seldom do I wear anything else.
My usual line-up are; Mademoiselle (I've worn for years), Noir, Bleu (actually cologne) and Christalle. And, what girl, do you know, who doesn't love N°5!?!!

When I first walked in Neiman Marcus, I was greeted by one of the sales rep with a small fragrance tester on a card. I smelled the fragrance and continued on my way (in a rush) without looking to see the brand. Now, fast forward to when time was on my side at the Chanel counter, and again - for Christalle.
I begin to smell my usual picks as if I never smelled them before and then it happened!

Beige from Les Exclusifs de Chanel collection!!!

Quick pic, well, because it's a quick pic also displaying samples that came with my purchase. N.5, Chance, Noir, and Beige.

The most beautiful scent my nose has ever encountered in its lifetime!!!

The Scoop: Beige, the works of Jacques Polge, was presented a few years back when first joining the collection "Les Exclusifs". Described by Mademoiselle as "A bouquet of hawthorn, freesia and frangipani, with shimmering hints of honey. A stunning blend of white petals and yellow gold… in other words, a breath of Beige". Adding, "Take refuge in Beige because it's natural".  Chanel Beige Parfum, also on the market now. The Eau de toilette bottles of 2.5oz (75ml) are priced anywhere from $150 up to $200 and well worth it! Les Exclusifs has 14 different fragrances in it's collection that are almost impossible to not fall in love with.

What's The Haute Report take on Beige?
Absolutely smittened by the fresh floral scents and the feeling I have each time it graces my skin (I feel Goddess like). As described by Chanel, a natural floral scent that sets off this chic empowerment for the Woman in Beige. The blend of white petals, honey, and I can even smell a little vanilla, makes it a very feminine, rather romantic and yet, still somewhat of an understated elegance that can be worn from day to night.

Since my purchase of Beige, I've received lots of, "what's that scent you're wearing" and "Oh my! You smell lovely!" And then there's those who pass-by and turn back around looking for the bouquet of flowers on my skin. HA!

So, there you have it! My New Love!!!

Casual Monday's: Mixed Prints

Happy Casual Monday Lovebugs!!!

We'll make this short and sweet so you may continue enjoying your fabulous Monday!

Mixed Prints was the name of my game on Friday afternoon. I enjoyed this ensemble sooo much that I just had to share!!

What's Goldan wearing?
Blue and white flannel print-like tunic, Black and white joggers with a sort of houndstooth print that fades throughout for that extra contrast. Oh! Yes! Not to forget, the thin black tuxedo-like lining on the sides (although you can hardly see in the pic). Ankle-wrap Sandal and black clutch.

What's the occasion?
Shopping, Blogging, you know, just doing what I do, Casually Chic. You can wear this ensemble just about anywhere!

Outfit Details: Top - Xhilaration (Target), Joggers - JOA (Enstyle Butik), Ankle-wrap Sandals - Cibottola (Aldo Shoes), Accessories/Bag - Forever21, Hair - Twist-Fro

What's the get down?
Joggers are a haute comfy trend that continues to stay on 'The Haute Report'! It just keeps getting better and better!
Flannel shirts are also a favorite! And I'm sure, you've probably seen them styled every which way. Our favorite style? Mixed with a different print that has no business being paired with a flannel print.
What's a limit? HA!

You ever put on an outfit and look in the mirror like "there she go!"? That's exactly how I felt when dancing in my living room mirror… LOL!

What did we love about this ensemble!?
The feeling I had and of course, the cost!
(I'm a true Diva on a dime… smirk)
Both joggers and top are polyster with the shirt being more sheer. I also loved how the shirt was a little short in the front and longer tail in the back (I have it tucked a smudge bit in the front). The joggers, were less than $50 at Enstyle Butik, here in Houston. My flannel top I got for $22 at Target and Ankle-wrap Sandal was just at $100. Clutch - $20. We can also get this same look for a lesser price if need be.

What's your take on mixed prints?
Over it? Or, YAY!?!

I said, "short & sweet" huh? LOL!
MUAH!!!!

NYFW Spring/Summer 2015 is a wrap and the Fashion industry is headed to London for more and more Fashion Weeks throughout the month.
Although, The Haute Report was not actually present at NYFW SS15 but we were definitely glued to our lappys for endless hours watching every show Live!

The Scoop: Return of the 60's and 70's glam with a major twist. The Runways were blazing haute with the Designers new Spring/Summer collections! From Glam Gowns, down to the Chic Street Style. From the Dapper male to the Man of extreme Style Not Swag. Spring/Summer of 2015 is going to be all about the Lace, Chiffon, Silks, Satin, Tulles, Sheer settings with nude undertones. Mesh has been reinvented to the maxx making it Glam Glam Glam for your everyday wear. Summer Suedes, threads and Leather like you've never seen before! Let's not forget the old Shimmer is back! Who said shimmery was dead!?! LOL!
The floral prints and patterns!?! Undescribable!

There were so many looks that we loved it was almost overwhelming when picking our favorites. Whether we were gawking over the most gorgeous Gowns, Suits that were redefined, dresses and skirts that were all about the silhouette of a woman. The Green & Gray Affair

On today's blog…
I had a slight #Zara attack last week when visiting their store in the Houston Galleria as it has been closed for months due to remodeling. So, here's the aftermath…

What's Goldan wearing?
Green Midi Skirt with pockets, Eggshell ribbed neck top, Gray Slingback Bootie and a Leopard print cross-body.

What's the occasion?
It was a Friday Afternoon!!!! Besides, #Iwokeuplikethis feeling all Woman… Neiman Marcus Trunk Show for Oscar de La Renta was also on the menu for the day…
But does she really need an occasion to stay Chic? Nope! Not at all…

What's the get down?
The Midi Skirt stays HAUTE!!! And Fall!?! We're going to see a lot of Green. Another huge trend this Season will be Gray. Mix/match and pair it how you like. Usually, a crop top makes a very chic entrance with a midi skirt.
However, I wanted a more baggy-frumpy look for this Chic Street Style.

Outfit Details: S/S/B - Zara, Bag - Michael Kors, Eyewear - Versace, Hair - Twist-Fro, Lips - MAC

The style of my Zara attack…

Psssssst… My cross-body is actually an older Michael Kors bag that I can't seem to get rid of and I'm more than just a sucka for studded earrings. LOL! I would so wear studded Pearl earrings every day of my life in a Goldan world but for now, we'll continue to dibble and dabble… (smirk)

What did we love about this ensemble?
We took what's trending and styled it our way with a Green & Gray affair and for a reasonable price at Zara. The Skirt and Shirt were less than $100 together and the Gray Suede Booties were just under $100, too!!!! Oh! Let's not forget that ruby pop of red on the lips either. What would a girl be without her red lipstick!?!!
MUAH!!!!

The Haute Report rewinds to Labor Day weekend for some Fashion Fun!!!

Goldan rocking a Kimono by DuO with denim short Shorts and Sandals, along with her fringe binge that she can't seem to get enough of…

KP isn't really a huge fan of accessories, so I tend to keep it to a minumum when styling her but one of these days she'll bow down to the Bold & Beautiful but for now…
Big studded earrings and a pendant necklace…

From flats to heels, short to tall… (Well, in my case anyway. HA!)

Sexy - Haute and yet, still playful - fun at the same time with just a change of shoe…

P.S. Definitely an eye catcher for daily wear, so I probably wouldn't wear this to the Cheescake Factory again… *smirk*

With Summer ending… We wore short shorts!!!

Which look do you prefer? Sandals, Heels, Boots or cut-out Oxfords?

Also, feel free to comment on our "wannabe" photoshoot with Goldan the not so photographer… LOL!!!
