Casual Monday's: Weekend Fab Find!

Happy Casual Monday!!! 

Over the weekend, we did a little bit of shopping and found some Fab Finds to share… Making a quick run inside the Houston Galleria to pick up a new handbag, unprepared for any blogging as I just wanted a new bag and go. Well, silly me. I should have known better. It's a Saturday afternoon at the Galleria, something is bound to happen for a blogger. 

Before I could make it to my bag destination, I slipped in to 7 For All Mankind store and of course, to my 'unprepared' surprise - an exclusive trunk show event… 

Here's the funny part, although I was popping in to take a look at denim pants, because we all know, 7 For All Mankind can give the illusion of a little pump in the bump for the ladies… HA! 

But, the moment I was presented with "All the Wire" Obsessed jewelry collection, exclusively for 7 For All Mankind, I had to have it! I think I totally forgot about wanting those denim pants (shrugs…). Greeted with Champagne when I entered the store, I was definitely in the spirit for the new collection.

All the Wire Co-founders, Desiree Cox & Tori Gonzales, has a story. 

Two sisters from Texas, well, stamped some jewelry. Tori tells us how it all begins with her sister Desiree's love story. 

"One day, driving down the country roads she asked, "Jeff, how much do you love me?" And of course, typical guy answer, "A lot." Which didn't sit well with her sister. She needed full on detail, so she asked again and got the same answer. They kept driving and he told her to look outside the window, "See how the telephone wire keeps going and going? That's how much I love you, all the wire…" I think she finally got the answer she was hoping for. The two love birds got married and on their wedding day, he had "All the Wire" engraved on her wedding band."

Awwww… BEAUTIFUL!!! 

Give me a sec, need a tissue (cheese) LOVE… 

I didn't get a chance to interview the Gals (my fault) but we got a chance to meet & greet which was Awesome! 

The sisters, Tori & Desiree were Fab Fun Dolls!!! Bubbly personalities, sweethearts with open arms - but of course they were, they're Texas Girls! What did you expect!?! LOL! 

My Love, Double or Nothin, Ooh La La! And, yes! I've worn my "All the Wire" jewelry the last 2 days, well, since my purchase. Desiree also threw in this knuckle ring that's adjustable to slide all the way down your finger - sssshhhh...

Casual Mondays: Weekend Menswear

The Blackout Layering Effect from Menswear...

Happy, Happy Casual Monday! Yes, the day we've all been waiting for - Monday! 

Our favorite day of the week! NOT!!!!

Over the weekend, I styled KP the Grunge Princess in a Japanese inspired menswear ensemble for her Friday Night Hype...

Originally, she requested a sexy look for the evening to go out with her College buds but I just had to grunge her up. I mean, she is the Grunge Princess... So, here we are....

My go to place for the look I had in mind? Nonno Fashion Boutique in Houston's Montrose area. 

Sure, I thought about going with her "sexy" request but once I entered the store and explored the women's section, the men's section kept calling me and calling me. And then the blackout happened...

The layering effect. 

Initially, I was going for the top layer as the XL appeared to be long enough to wear as a dress for a funky street style but it was too short to have fun in. However, Jonathan the owner, knew I wanted this look so he presented me with the bottom layer for a layering effect, which was more than perfect for the look I wanted to create. Thanks Jonathan!

Next, the black Timberlands and a pair of shades to top it off!

Tomboy Glitch for the Grunge Princess...

In love with the print, texture and graphic design that I could not leave the store without it. 

What's even better is that Jonathan only made one of the 'Giveashit' shirts and I got it! I got it! Well, she did... (smirk)... More like the style of hip-hop... The logo on the back, inspired by the Givenchy haute couture brand, makes this a haute twist for street style lovers. The texture - faux leather snakeskin. Or at least thats how it looks and feel. (shrugs)... HA!

Yes, I did a bootleg photoshoot in the elevators of her dorm... One day, we'll invest in a  photographer for a "real" photo shoot. Or maybe we can snag us a photography boyfriend or something like that... LOL!!!

For now, menswear on the ladies remains Haute! Haute! Haute!

The Scoop on Nonno: The store based off Tokyo, London, Taiwan, S. Korea and Milan fashion for both men and women clothing. I always find little treasures here and each time I'm in the area, I make it a point to pop my head in to see what's new and chat with Jonathan about whats in store. Never a let down! My go to store when I want that 'Fresh to Death' look. What I really enjoy about Nonno, I feel like I'm getting something exclusive as he doesn't produce his clothing in the masses. Usually, it's a couple of pieces for each look, which means you don't have to worry about walking outside and seeing someone wearing the same thing as you. Not only that, Nonno has great deals to keep you 'Fresh to Death' in Style.

Sunday Funday Funnies: Forever Young

Sunday Funday Forever Young Giggles… 

You ever wonder what the secret is to looking youthful? 

Well, here's the only Beauty tip that Goldan has to offer… SLEEP!!! And lots of it!!! I've used this regime for years and it seems to work quite well… (smirk) LOL!!! 

Seriously! It's true!!! 

SLEEP! SLEEP! SLEEP! 

Some may call it 'lazy', I like to call it 'Beauty rest'… Let's just be honest, not all of us can afford the best of the best anti-aging beauty creams or cosmetic surgeries or any of that fancy stuff to keep us looking youthful. But a good 8 to 12 hrs of sleep (if possible) can work wonders… 

I know, I know, not everyone has the luxury of getting 8hrs of sleep or 12 for that matter. When you're a wife, mother, business woman, juggling all that you can, sometimes 6hrs of sleep is unheard of. Trust me, I understand. But if time permits itself, sleep hunny!… 

I finally reached an age where I stare in the mirror looking for wrinkles, comparing pictures from my younger days to now. Wondering if I'm beginning to lose my youthful looks with each Birthday that passes. Then, I'm reminded when I step outside and have to show my I.D. others are amazed how young I look for my age. I'm asked quite frequently, "how do you look so young?" My response is always, "I sleep a lot". My friends think I'm crazy for sleeping as much as I do and no I'm not missing out on life when I do sleep for 12hrs. I'm simply preserving my smile… HA! 

I always wanted to look like Halle Berry when I became an adult in the sense of how young she's always looked and saying to myself, "I want to look as young as she does when I reach her age". Well, baby-yyy… Let me tell ya, I found her secret - SLEEP!!!! I mean without the fancy beauty creams and stuff… LOL!!! 

However, 'beauty sleep' won't necessarily keep you flawless but it can keep you looking youthful. Not getting enough sleep? In my opinion, could possibly have you looking like Rumpelstilskin or the the Crypt Keeper or even Lindsay Lohan in your 30's… oops! 

Hardknock life… (shrugs) 

But if you're looking for flawless youthful skin, then we all know, drinking plenty of water can be the trick. For dry skin, try a moisturizer. And if you're anything like myself, your body needs to intake more than just Pepsi and M&M's for breakfast, lunch and dinner.… Otherwise, you'll have this youthful rocky road look and we'll be twins!!! Yasssssss!!! Twinnies!!! 

Pssssst… Somehow that twinnies comment now has me thinking of Twinkies... HA! 

Moral of the Story: In order to have that Forever Young, youthful look we all want without spending the big bucks -

SLEEP! SLEEP! SLEEP! 

It wouldn't hurt to watch your diet either if you're looking to be 'flawless'...

There you have it! The only Beauty tip I know and use. Well, for the most part…

Dress with my Denim Remix…

Happy, Happy Friday!!! 

Couple of days ago, I was feeling a little spunky so instead of turning into a complete goofball, I decided to let my clothes have all the fun.

Feeling playful? 

I took a cotton dress that I love and wore it as a top with my stonewash skinny jeans and a pair of black booties. Black &  Gold link necklace for more street flava and my blogger bag which has no business being in the pic. 

Truthfully, the bag holds magazines, my notebook to jot down ideas, perfumes, earbuds, so on and so forth… HA! But it somehow worked with the ensemble...

What's the scoop? 

We've probably all seen the look over the Summer but with long Tunics and Maxi shirt-dresses. However, I wanted to do it with an actual dress I had in my closet. Of course, not any dress can be paired with denim but then again, there should be no more rules in fashion, as long as the vibe is right… 

Streetstyle Bandit! 

The dress was something I pulled off the racks at DuO of Houston. It was also one of their Runway dresses from one of their Fashion Shows. I love the cut and structure of this dress because it has a very chic sex appeal to it! And if you have the curves… Hunnnnny!!! 

But I don't have curves. So, it's just 'cute' on me… LOL!!!

Paris Fashion Week has ended our Fashion Month that some of us live for…

PFW SS15 was more than just exciting to watch. It was breathtaking, spunky, chic, haute, classical, bossy and everything a fashionista or fashionisto dreams about!!!

What's the occasion: 

I was waiting on a phone call… LOL!!! 

It was an on-the-go Saturday, from luncheon to Grand Re-openings at Boutiques, taking pictures for blogs and even popping my head into a Fashion Show that evening. This little Boyfriend Crush was a great Saturday date! 

What's the look: 

A Boyfriend Crush that we've had for quite some time now. Done it before! Doing it again! Something about being Casually Chic that's menswear inspired. But with a Velvet touch! Yes, Velvet isn't going anywhere! And, if you were tuned in to NYFW SS/15 (New York Fashion Week), Velvet was on the Runway! Try pairing it with different textures & threads, while keeping Velvet the focal point. 

Outfit Details: Blazer - Enstyle Butik, V-neck Tee - Mossimo (Target), Tuxedo pants - Aidan Mattox, Slip-On Sneaks - Joie Kidmore, Hair - Doing its own thing (shurgs)

What do we love about this look: 

It's comfortably chic! A Tomboy Glitch that gives you somewhat of a contemporary streetstyle. Mixing different textures and threads. A lady's menstyle on a Saturday, if you would. Don't worry about price sensitivity on this one. Well, minus the shoes. The pants were a steal at Loehmann's (now closed), originally over $150 (Aidan Mattox) but I got them for less than $50. My V-neck Tee, usually comes from Target for a quick $8 and the Blazer was less than $50 at Enstyle Butik, here in Houston's Rice Village. However, the Slip-ons, just right over $200 from Neimans. Take away the shoes and you have a clean cut Boyfriend Crush for less than $100! Don't want to spend that much for shoes? No problem! The same look can be done for less.
