Haute on the Runway - Jason Wu Fall 2014

Haute on the Runway - Jason Wu!

Harpers Bazaar is describing some of the line as a reminder of the Rich American Heritage of 70s sportif but I get more of the '90s Woman' vibe from it, which makes this Collection a Banger!

The line is filled with satin dresses, burnt/crushed velvet, luxe furs, cashmere double - breasted coats, chiffon gowns and mean trousers!

Elegance with a Sexy, subtle, mean streak edge!

The Woman who wants it ALL!!! Without saying it...

The trousers! The satin cut midriff! The must have Black Dress!

The Coats that says, 'I'm in CHARGE!
MOVE OVER!'

The colors, the mixture of fur and cashmere, that moto jacket! Can one marry clothes?
I swear, I'd LOVE YOU FOR LIFE!

The Gowns that need no introduction!
And with the right curves!?!
Becomes DANGEROUS!!!

Need I say more!?!

I LOVED the looks of this Collection! He gave that old 90s Glam! (IMO)

The Velvet! The Velvet!

And of course, the Coats! I may be just a little obsessed with Coats right now but trust it's not my fault. (LOL!)

The neck vibe, whether it's a high-neck or sexy plunge, Chic and Sophistication at it's finest!!!

Can't wait to see who will be the who to Rock this "Austere" Wu!!!

BCBG Max Azria Fall 2014 Love

It's Here! MB Fashion Week has begun and the Runways are HAUTE!!!

One of my Favorite Designers, BCBG Max Azria, kicked it off!

Edgy, Fierce, Attitude, Chic, Haute, and Sex Appeal! In my attempt to describe this
 'Fresh to Death' line.

Loving the diversity in this Fall look! From the Maxi to the Box Leather Tops and Color-block Dresses...
The Runway must have been on FIRE!!!

The Coats are in! Remember when Kim Kardashian created all that buzz last year with her oversized Max Mara Coats... Well, the big Coats are now on the Haute trend and more than ever before. Whether you're rocking a Trench or just an oversized jacket, Max Azria has the look!

Wear them with jeans and joggers for a more Street Style.

The Fur necks!?! Edgy & Chic! I'm utterly in LOVE with this look!
Raw, Fresh, Bohemian type of twist.

The Fall Collection is everything I knew it would be. Imagine your favorite designer, creating a line just for you. Girlie but a little Rough and Tough at the same time. I don't believe I've ever been let down by any of their Collections and maybe that's why I favor for life. It NEVER gets boring.

And as much as I wanted to choose the whole Fall 2014 Collection as my favorites, these were just the ones I added to my savings account.

LOVE! ADORE! HAUTE!

What do you think of the line?

Timberland Hype

Who doesn't love a pair of Timb's? When it's cold and freezing outside or whenever... Timberlands are Classic and NEVER-EVER goes out of Style!

Step out the box with a less classic style. The traditional rust, wheat or camel (whatever color the classic is LOL!), are always a GO! But a neutral/natural color adds more flavor.

Blazer, Hoodie, T-shirt, a pair of Skinny's and Timb's makes an Awesome outfit for running around in 30° weather...

Outfit Details:

Blazer - Giorgio Armani
Hoodie - American Apparel
T-shirt - Spaghetti-o's (HA!)

Black History Style - Ruby Bridges

Black History Month and Style pick of the Week. Ruby 'Nell' Bridges, one of the 1st Black Students to integrate a formerly all White New Orleans Public School in 1960.

The Civil Rights movements, battle to end segregation, led the Federal Courts to force New Orleans to desegregate their schools, that year. Test were taken and the qualified were chosen to attend the newly desegregrated Schools that Fall of 1960.

The decision must have been the hardest for her family to make. To my understanding, her Father wasn't too keen to the idea due to all the dangerous risk involved. But Ruby's Mother, stood her ground and stressed the importance and what it meant for all black children and not just their own. If you know what New Orleans was back then, then you know what this meant.

Six kids were chosen, two declined, three went to another school and Ruby off to William Frantz by her lonely with Style & Grace!

Ruby, wearing a dress, suit jacket, dress socks, Mary Jane shoes, bow in hair, plaid book bag in hand and just as CUTE as she wanted to be.

The picture most of us has seen, is this little girl (looking sharp) being escorted by the U.S. Federal Marshalls in and out of school for protection from angered whites.

i

Can you imagine how scary that must have been for a 6 year old!?! However, I read in an article that Ruby recollects the mob's loud noises, rants and fist shaking, reminding her of the City's Mardi Gras.

For Ruby, prayer was her protection taught by her Mother.

She had to be one of the bravest, little girls, I've ever read about. The black dolls in coffins and the everyday hatred she endured at that time. Riots broke out, her Father fired from work, Grandparents had to relocate, family unable to shop at the local Grocers.

Yet, she continued to walk through the angry crowds and up William Frantz school steps and before she knew, it was all over with, as if nothing even happened.

Integration had begun.

Now, Ruby's journey is connecting children through their schools and after 30 years, she still has a relationship/bond with her 1st grade teacher Mrs. Henry who was kind-hearted and personable with her lessons, gave life in that classroom and some comfort at school making it enjoyable to learn and teaching Ruby her greatest lesson - Never Judge People By Color

Today, Ruby, volunteers at the School William Frantz where she once stood to make History as their 1st Black Student.

The Simple & Chic Takeover

While Celebs kept it Simple and Chic in January, this timeless and effortless look, appears to be everyone's favorite and here to stay. Okay, so maybe this Style has never gone out of Style but the reinvention of it has been setting off this Edgy Vibe, amongst the Stars and your everyday Street Style.

Take Anne Hathaway, she's AMAZING in this all Black Viktor & Rolf ensemble. It's Simple & Chic with a little Tomboy Glitch! The accessories were kept slim to none and a pop of color added to the lips. One of my favorite Styles, when done right... And Hathaway, knocked it out the park!

Nicole Richie continues to prove herself, looking like old money, wearing just a White Button-up shirt, Red Blazer off the shoulders, and a pair of flaired jeans. A Classic Style that you can always count on!

But the Doggy is the killer here (LOL!)

Rita! Rita! An Edgy, Hip, and Chic type of Style all mixed in one. LOVE!!!!
How she wore this Blue Vionnet Dress and Blazer!?!
Simple, Elegant, Sexy! GORGEOUS!

ADORE! TO DIE FOR! HAUTE!

The Lovely, Kerry Washington just looks CUTE AS A BUTTON in her Oscar de la Renta & Loubs wearing her pregnancy like a Gem with Style & Grace. The Dress is just Perfect on her!  Makes ya want to pinch her cheeks like your Grandmother friends use to do you HA!

Simple Sophistication at it's Best!!!

I, myself, am a HUGE FAN of keeping it Simple. Something about looking effortless that sets off a real Chic vibe that I just seem to be obsessed with.

Simply Styled to Perfection!

What's your opinion? Yay or Nay?

The Haute Style - Rihanna or Kim K

Between these two Gals, I'm not sure which one has been giving me LIFE, lately! However, they are both having a Style Outbreak.

Rihanna is always 'SERVING' when she hits the scene but as of late, she's becoming quite the Style Icon (IMO). I mean, who can get enough of this edgy, beauty? She can do no wrong, when it comes to Style.

Kim Kardashian has also stepped her game up post baby and I'm LOVING IT! The oversized Trench Coats are Haute! I could care less how everyone may be tired of her in these different coats but I Adore the look on her. It's a Fresh, Simple, Elegant look. In which she was in dying need for, if I may say so...

Rihanna stepped out in a pair of Sweats, New Balance Sneakers and a heavy all White Fur Coat! #ChicStreet at it's finest!!!

Do you see what I mean about Style Icon now?  You've got to be a BAD MAMBA JAMBA to pull that off... WINNING!

Rihanna in Altuzarra Spring 2014 tailored skirt, pin-stripped top and White Manolo Blanhiks. SEX!!! The attitude, the pose, those legs, everything about her was Styled to Perfection!

Let's have a moment of silence please...

Kimmy stuck with her usual Black in this Givency Gown from the 2014 Spring Collection. The breast may be a little too much here but I can't stop looking at her with my mouth open. (LOL!) Glad to see her back as a Brunette cuz I'm not sure I really dug the blonde but oh, well.

P.S. I would have preferred to see a smaller bust in that Givency Gown, to be honest. However, soon to be Mrs. West had me gawking over her. (Shrugs)

My Haute Style pick is the edgy beauty, Rihanna!

Loving her style to the fullest! Bad Girl RiRi is Gangsta Glam all day!

Rocking Lanvin Spring 2014 Metallic tee with a Ruffled Hem Skirt and Scarf at her Viva Glam Cosmetics launch.

HAUTE! HAUTE! HAUTE!

Who's Style do you think is the best?

How to Wear You!

With that being said.. Wear what you want and how you want!

Street Grunge for watching the Super Bowl with friends. Not a fan of either team, so I wore what I wanted.

As it's now said, 'Simple is the New Black'. Cotton joggers with Military Boots, an old ripped-up, off-the-shoulder top for this Easy to Go, Ready to Rumble, ensemble.

Military Boots look their best when they're all worn out and scuffed up (IMO).
What do you think?

Military Boots - Matisse
