Last week, The Haute Report was invited by the Neiman Marcus team (here in the Houston Galleria) to attend their Fall Trend Event Party/Runway Presentation… 

Goldan had the luxury of attending the event for us to see the new Haute Fall Trends at Neiman Marcus. Although we couldn't wait to share with you guys, we waited… HA! (shrugs)... 

The event was put together by my two Besties, Stacey Swift and Amy Gilbert, introducing CUSP by Neiman Marcus. A contemporary concept that every fashionista dreams of night and day. Looking for the latest must-haves for your everyday lifestyle!?! Well, Neiman Marcus says it all!!!  Whether work, play, night on the town, or whatever… Even making a trip to the Post Office… LOL!!! Haute is Haute!!! And I won't say any names but some people may feel like they're trapped in a nightmare when they're not dressed fresh to death… HA! Speaking of Fresh to Death, the looks we're going to see are the work of the ever-so-lovely Amy!!!

Beauty tips, anyone??? Well, some of your favorite beauty vendors were on deck with tips and tricks. And, not only that, have a seat and see why Napoleon Pedris, Laura Mercier and Tata Harper are favorites… Did I mention the chance to WIN WIN WIN!?!?!?!!!

We Wear Chic Shorts

Summertime is made for Sundresses, Tank Tops, Shorts, Bikinis, Sandals, Vacations, Beaches, relaxation and extreme fun times with your crew, right!?! 

So, when The Haute Report model KP tells us that she has a lunch date with her girlfriends and would like to show off her legs but keep it classy and fun….

We Wear Chic Shorts!!!! 

Lunch Date with your girls - Goldan to the rescue!!! 

KP styled in a short ensemble that screams Chic Street for her luncheon/dinner (late lunch, if you would). The girls decided to get all dolled up for their afternoon of dining out. They agreed to 'dressy' but 'not too dressy', with most of the gals wearing dresses. Well, you know what that meant… KP in opposites!!! 

I chose these rayon navy blue shorts that has a nude outlining on the pockets to mix with a floral print tank and nude sandals for a fun girlie look; showing a little leg action while keeping it classy as requested… 

The shorts were right on time for the occasion. Not too tight, not too short, perfect fit. And the detailing was just right with those ridged edges adding more flavor. 

Chic Shorts can be the hautest when you allow them to slouch off the waist a little… (IMO)… Too be honest, no one really wants to see your buttocks hanging out your shorts. At least, not on young ladies!!! *wink* wink* 

The Haute Report says, "when we wear short Shorts, we wear Chic Shorts!!!"

P.S. I hope she brings her stylist some food back… You guys can probably hear my stomach growling, huh?  Smh… LOL!!!

Truly You Curls the Pop- Up Shop

The Truly You Pop-Up is back!!!

 And, of course, The Haute Report was there to support Women on the Grind!!!! 

Goldan was also completely out of the Truly You Curls - Silky Smooth Scalp Treatment, which was just another reason for us to Pop-Up and hang out with Audia in support of Truly You Curls. 

Yesssssss!!!! 

Tendrils and Curls

The One Stop Shop for Wavy, Curly & Kinky Hair… 

I had no idea this little treasure existed… But I  do now and that just goes to show you how much I play in my hair… (smirk… LOL!!!)

This place is like Heaven for the Natural. So, it's only right that Truly You Curls products end up on the shelves here… 

Truly You Curls has been making their way around Houston with Pop-up Shops at various Natural Hair Salons/Shops introducing their products -  Silky Smooth Scalp Treatment and Super Soft Butter Blend. 

Unfortunately, we haven't been able to attend their previous Pop-Up Shops but we made sure it was on our menu for the day. 

P.S. When you plan on surprising someone but they text you the morning of with a personal invite, it's like awwww we were thinking the same thing… HA! Perfect! 

So, here we are!!! 

Time to giggle, mingle, purchase, swap hair stories, learn a little and just have a good ole time supporting our sisters!!! 

Come on! Are you coming!?!!! 

Two steps inside and we're already smittened by this shop!!! 

Hair, face, bath & body, shop by brands… You name it, they got it!!!

A 20 minute drive that I will definitely do to have all the products I deem necessary without driving from here to there just to accomplish my Natural Girl Haute goals… 

Let's talk about Natural Hair, Baby!!! 

The room filled with ladies and Natural Hair being the topic of discussion… Of course, it's a natural hair event at a natural hair shop!!! What else would we talk about!?! Well… HA! 

Audia, founder of Truly You Curls with Ms. JD Winters, the face of the brand. By the way, we love how Audia always show up as a Chic Naturalista everytime we see her!!! So, you know it's picture time… LOL!!! 

Audia in that cute little floral dress and Ms. JD with that FABULOUS afro puff… 

JD talked to us about the products and her experience which made her #TeamTrulyYou. While listening to her speak, I found it quite funny to learn that she had the same experience as I when first using the product.

 Most of us are probably use to adding lots and lots of products looking for that perfect moisture to manage our hair and may overdue it at times. But with Truly You Curls, you don't have to go overboard. A little will suffice unless your hair is extra thirsty but even then…

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!!! 

The signed walls in the shop were just adorable!!! We were so caught up having a good time that we forgot to sign the wall… smh… shrugs… 

Tendrils and Curls - Natural Girls Haute!!!!

But let's not stop with the Naturals as there are lots to offer here. From clothing apparel to accessories, chic bags/totes and all the natural hair products that you could imagine for a healthy hair life... 

There were some great discussions about Natural hair, how to maintain moisture, wearing protective styles and the trials of learning your hair. What we enjoyed the most - every lady that entered the shop had a story to tell about their hair… 

So, if you ever feel alone… DON'T!!!! 

We've probably all experienced somewhat the same on our natural hair journey, just some worse than others… LOL!!! Trust, I know… smh… 

Learning your hair and what works for your hair has been an experience for all of us… 

I use the Silky Smooth Scalp Treatment for my hot oil treatments as well as daily use and the Super Soft Butter Blend as a Pre-shampoo and it also works well when I'm doing twist… And I can see a major difference in my hair now…

And for the 'not so natural', we DO NOT want you to feel left out like, "here we go with another natural girl blah, blah, blah'...

Casual Monday's: Weekend Recap

Casual Monday: Weekend Recap… 

What are weekends for!?!! Let your hair down and relax. Enjoying fun times with great company. Shopping, cleaning, running errands, and all that good stuff we try to get done within 2 days before our favorite day of the week arrives - Monday… UGH!!! 

Our weekend consisted of personal shopping for a male client, dining out, arguing with our business manager, quick photoshoots, attending Truly You Curls Pop-up Shop (later on the blog) and lots of nap time... No, seriously, lots of naps!!! LOL!!! (shrugs)… 

Here I stand - Dressed for the occasion!!! 

Casually on my Tomboy Glitch *ish with a pop of cleavage for my mood swings… 

Nothing says 'Saturday afternoon' like a pair of distressed boyfriend cut jeans, button-down shirt, sneaks and a blazer! My version of wearing basketball shorts with a t-shirt and Nike slide sandals… bwahahahaha!!! 

Going out with friends? Need a quick jazz-up? 

Just ditch your sneaks for a pair of heels… 

P.S. I chose to ignore the iron for a more edgy/grunge-like look… I mean we're probably just going to take another nap after this…  

We're taking 'comfy basics' from your closet and styling it to look like a Runway Model during her downtime is our lesson here… 

Otay!!! So, maybe I don't look like a Runway Model but I betcha folks are eyeballing and wondering 'who's that girl'… 

(I know! I know! I'm too much! LOL!!!)

If I were to somehow fall off this rock and scuff up my jeans it wouldn't even matter… (smirk)… 

The Haute Report model - KP, also tagged along on a Casual Saturday, wearing faded black jeans, a grey sweater with a front zipper and yellow heels to add just a little color and sunshine to the gloomy sky… 

Tomboy Chic!!! 

What do we do with our faded black jeans? Save them for casual days! Duh!!! Paired with either heels or flats - doesn't matter - they're perfect when you want an old Rocker vibe for a Casually Chic look!!! 

I'm really not sure what this pose is about or why she looks as if she's trying to upstage me but little Ms. Princess will have to take a backseat… LOL!!! 

Moral of the Story: 

Turn those old basics into a Casually Chic ensemble!!
